UPDATE: change only the intended row
Distinguish setting a constant from adding to a current value. Choose the target before calculating, then verify other products stayed unchanged.
UPDATE changes existing rows. SET defines the new value; WHERE selects affected rows. Without WHERE, all rows are targeted. Updating an absent identifier does not insert a row.
