Safe conversion and a date for display

A query completing is not proof of valid input. Separate type conversion, domain validation and date display. SQLite CAST is not an automatic replacement for SQL Server TRY_CONVERT.

CAST requests another type; it does not prove business-valid text. CASE can return NULL for rejected input. STRFTIME creates date-display text; retain the original ISO date for chronological sorting.
